Biography for Director Thor Gold

Thor Gold has the distinction of being the only Jewish "Thor" working in Hollywood. He is an award-winning director whose four short films - each in a different genre – have played in many film festivals, including Cannes, Raindance Film Festival and the Australian Int’l Film Festival.

His award winning short, Something True recently completed a successful run of twenty-seven film festivals by winning the Grand Jury Prize for Excellence at the Park City Film Music Festival.

His short films have been made in a variety of formats: digital video, S-16mm, B & W, and 35mm. UCSB uses Double Trouble as part of their film-noir class.

Thor creates studio quality productions at "indie" prices because of his experience in other departments, allowing him to work quickly, effectively and efficiently. He has worked as a film editor, assistant editor, two films for Roger Corman; 1st and 2nd AD, including a short Executive-Produced by Quentin Tarantino; producer, 2nd unit director, a directing coach and an actor in theatre and film, most recently co-starred in a play with Spider-Man's James Franco.
